Club Distances

Know your numbers. Log carry and total yardages for every club, spot gaps in your bag, and make smarter decisions on the course.

Tips

  • Carry vs Total: Carry is where the ball lands. Total includes roll. Both matter for course management.
  • Ideal gaps: 10–15 yards between consecutive clubs. Bigger gaps leave you stuck between clubs on approach shots.
  • Update regularly: Distances change with seasons, swing changes, and equipment. Re-test every few months.
  • Dispersion matters: A club you hit 160 but spray 30 yards wide is less useful than one at 150 that goes where you aim.
  • 14-club max: USGA rules allow 14 clubs. Use your gaps to decide what stays and what goes.
